Wasabi is exasperated after they leave, thinking that the jutsu is something her grandmother dreamed up. Wasabi points out her match is about to begin, and asks them to return to their seats. Wasabi's grandmother hands her a scroll she left at home, a jutsu passed down their clan that channels a monster cat. She believes that Wasabi becoming chūnin at her age, a first for their clan, will be a great accomplishment, Wasabi's parents echoing her and confident that Wasabi can become Hokage. Wasabi's grandmother joins them, expressing pride in Wasabi representing their clan. Wasabi's parents arrive, already celebrating her promotion, flustering her. Wasabi isn't as boisterous, which her team-mates notice and comment on. Iwabee fires himself up, feeling that becoming a chūnin will take him closer to becoming Hokage.

Code questions on the unreasonable demands Kawaki might get, but he counters that he's used to people always wanting unreasonable things from him. Kawaki wants to negotiate with that person, because whoever they are, they were able to influence Code to exclude Kawaki from his vengeance. Kawaki wants to talk with whoever wants to meet with him. Code asks what Kawaki thinks he can do to protect the Hokage. Ada reports to Code on the likelihood of Konoha finding them now that Boruto is there. Boruto says that Konoha will be able to track him there, but keeping Naruto away and safe is what Kawaki wants. Code remains silent, and the two resume arguing. Kawaki tells Code to ignore Boruto and leave together. Boruto and Kawaki argue about the other being there. When Code asks, she's unsure how Boruto tracked Kawaki, attributing it either to being Ōtsutsuki or to the Kāma. Ada blames Code for rushing in without listening to her, so she wasn't able to warn him of Boruto's arrival.
